Foreign Policy Focus

Foreign Policy Focus is a podcast hosted by me, Kyle! It covers current events overseas and how those events affect you at home. While US military operations in the Middle East seem like they are on the other side of the world, they have real impacts on the everyday lives of Americans. Wars are the most costly of all US government actions and politicians use them to strip away rights of Americans. Knowing what your government is doing around the globe will give you insight into what they are doing at home.

In FPF #25, I update listeners on stories from Syria since Trump's attack. I go over who support and who opposes Trump's attack. I also update listeners on Yemen, Afghanistan, and the Trump Administration.

This comment is in reference to a different podcast you did, a redo on the general history of conflicts in north Africa, the Middle East, South Asia. I very much agree with you that we are creating our own problems. I want to refer you to Sarah Chayes, whose specialty is corruption and how we, as we prop up bad, corrupt governments, as we interfere injudiciously, we create the terrorists we must fight. She lived in Afghanistan from December 2001 until about 2011, after which she worked as an advisor to Admiral Mike
Mullen, chairman of the joint Chiefs, and now works for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Perhaps you do not agree, but I agree 100% with her that we have reached a whole new level of kleptocracy in this nation since November 8. There are a lot of lectures she has done posted on YouTube, iTunesU, TED. In her two books, thieves of state and punishment of virtue, you will find much agreement with your analysis.
