Foreign Policy Focus

Foreign Policy Focus is a podcast hosted by me, Kyle! It covers current events overseas and how those events affect you at home. While US military operations in the Middle East seem like they are on the other side of the world, they have real impacts on the everyday lives of Americans. Wars are the most costly of all US government actions and politicians use them to strip away rights of Americans. Knowing what your government is doing around the globe will give you insight into what they are doing at home.

Knowing what your government is doing around the globe will give you insight into what they are doing at home.

On FPF #61, I update several conflicts from around the world. In Africa, I update ongoing conflicts in Mali, Libya, and Somalia. In the Middle East, I focus on US interventions in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I also update the civil war in Ukraine.

Jun 30, 2017

On FPF #60, I tackle current events in the past week. Trump continues to be hawkish towards Assad. Trump threatened to bomb Syria if chemical weapons are used. On North Korea, Trump was presented with attack plans by McMaster. Trump is also continuing the same old US policy in Afghanistan. I also update NATO, Qatar, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Jun 28, 2017

On FPF #59, I give my take on the Putin/Stone interviews. The four hours of interviews covered several important subjects. Stone questions Putin on his early life to recent geopolitical events. The interviews shed light on the world from a Russia perspective.

On FPF #58, I look at two articles debunking Syrian lies. One article is by Seymour Hersh and looks at the April 4th chemical attack in Syria. Hersh proves the Assad did not gas his people. The other article is by Gareth Porter. Porter shows the US armed the Jihadist Syrian Rebels. I also update Yemen, Qatar, Russia, Iraq, and Pakistan.

Will Porter return to Foreign Policy Focus to update the wars in Afghanistan and Syria. Will discuss his recent articles on events in Afghanistan. Will's articles are on the US looking to send an additional 4,000 troops to Afghanistan and General Mattis admitting the US is not winning in Afghanistan. Will also explains the crazy events in Syria.

On FPF #56, I discuss Congress taking the first steps towards passing a new AUMF. The new AUMF will allow the president to wage war across the globe. The bill will go to the Senate Foreign Relation Committee tomorrow. I also update Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Mosul, and North Korea.

Jun 19, 2017

On FPF #55, I look at developing stories in Syria and Afghanistan. In Syria, the US shoot down a Syrian plane. Russia has responded by saying all US planes West of the Euphrates are now targets. In Afghanistan, the US looks to add more troops to the longest war in US history. I also give updates on Cuba, Iraq, UK, North Korea, and Turkey.

Jun 16, 2017

On FPF #54, I look at how a recent shooting exposes Congress. After the shooting of Steve Scalise, members of Congress rushed to get in front of the cameras to tell Americans how much they care about human life. The day before the shooting, 53 members of the Senate voted to continue to support Saudi Arabia's slaughter of the people of Yemen. Those 53 members of Congress exposed themselves as hypocrites who only care about human life when it benefits their political ambitions. I also update Philippines, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, and Iraq.

Jun 14, 2017

On FPF #53, I look at the war machine's propaganda. The propaganda creates a false narrative about US wars overseas. The lies that are told by the media and government about war allow US support for war to continue. The war harms the people of the US and the Middle East, while enriching and empowering wealthy elites. By knowing how to identify the propaganda you can avoid believing it.

Jun 12, 2017

On FPF #52, I discuss Trump's latest pledge to NATO. Trump confirmed that the US would uphold Article 5 of the NATO agreement. Article 5 requires the US to come to the defense of any NATO country that is attacked. Trump's confirmation of Article 5 is Trump biggest step from his campaign statement that NATO is obsolete. I also update Qatar, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, and Syria.

Jun 9, 2017

FPF #51, I look at the Qatar situation. Saudi's split with Qatar has caused splits in the and the GCC and Sunni Arab states. Qatar seems to be open to moving closer to Iran, while Turkey splits from Saudi Arabia to support Qatar. Trump first took credit for the Qatar/Saudi split. After the split had become a geopolitical nightmare, Trump offered to help find peace between the two nations. Trump seems clueless on how Middle East affairs operate. I also look at Trump's smart and hypocritical message to Iran. I update Iraq, Somalia, Ukraine, and Yemen.

Foreign Policy Focus Episode #50 is here!! On FPF #50, I talk about several current events in foreign policy. One story is a terror attack in Iran. I look at the possibility of Western sympathy for Iran. I break down the Qatar/Saudi Arabia split. I look at the conflicts in Iraq and Syria. I also give updates on Ivory Coast, Libya, and the Philippines.

Jun 5, 2017

On FPF #49, Will Porter returns to the show to give updates on Iraq and Syria. In Mosul, the killing of civilians continues and Will write on it in, HUNDREDS OF CIVILIANS DEAD IN MOSUL AIRSTRIKE. In Syria, US policy has us fighting allies and Will explains it in his article, American Foreign Policy is a Trainwreck.

On FPF #48, I discuss the inconsistency of mainstream media coverage of international events. The media has associated Trump with governments that support terrorism for pulling out of the Paris climate agreement. After ignoring Obama's support of Saudi Arabia for years. The media was also very critical of Assad's war in Aleppo, while the media fails to report any of the US government's crimes in Mosul. These differences in coverage led Americans to have a distorted view on foreign policy.

May 31, 2017

On FPF #47, I discuss the change in US strategy in the ISIS War. General James Mattis announced the US is moving to an annihilation tactics strategy. Until now, the Trump Administration denied altering the US strategy against ISIS from the Obama policy. Under Trump, the US military increased the number of bombs being dropped, and this has resulted in more civilian deaths. This new strategy involves the US demanding civilians flee Mosul and Raqqa. Then the US will kill the remaining people. I argue this strategy will result in more blowback and more civilian deaths.

May 29, 2017

On FPF #46, I examine some recent comments from General Mattis on Yemen. Mattis claims that Iran is the country trying to destabilize Yemen. I argue that Saudi Arabia with US backing is responsible for destabilizing Yemen. Iran has provided little support to the Houthi and has avoided the Yemeni Civil War for the most part. Is Mattis looking to mislead the American people or has he been misled? I also give updates on Syria, China, and Iraq.

May 26, 2017

On FPF#45, I respond to a Facebook comment that I hate America. I make the argument that I am critical of an American foreign policy that is harmful to the American people. Blowback, less wealth, a less stable Middle East, and declining morals are all consequences of US foreign policy for the American people. To improve America, you must oppose the awful foreign policy.

May 24, 2017

On FPF #44, I discuss the terror attack in Manchester. The man who carried out the attack was of Libyan descent. Libya has been turned into Hell since a US-led NATO war destroyed the country. Libya is now a failed state with slavery and warring governments. The US-backed government is committing war crimes and huge numbers of refugees reporting being raped or sexually assaulted. The Manchester Terror Attack was an example of blowback. Politicians like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama created the situation that led to this terror attack

On FPF #43, Will Porter joins me for the first Foreign policy Focus interview. Will discuss three of his recent articles and the US attack on Assad-allied forces. Will Porter is a journalist and commentator with a focus on U.S. foreign policy and Mid East affairs. He is a staff writer for the Daily Sheeple, and some of his freelance work can be found at the Libertarian Institute and Antiwar.com.

On FPF #42, I discuss the fight that broke out between Erdogan's bodyguards and pro-Kurdish protesters in DC. The fight provides good imagery for the relationship between the Turkish government and peaceful Kurdish civilians. Erdogan has restarted a war against the PKK and the Kurdish people of Turkey. Erdogan's feeling towards Kurds has implications for US policy in Syria. I also discuss several other current events.

May 17, 2017

On FPF #41, I discuss the recent survey that identified only 37% of Americans can find North Korea on a map. I make the case that people who support a hostile policy against North Korea should be able to find North Korea on a map. I think so few Americans being able to find North Korea on a map illustrates how out of touch Americans are with our foreign policy. I also update several foreign policy current events.

May 15, 2017

On FPF #40, I discuss the truth about US interventions. US media and politicians never tell the truth about the failures of interventions. Look at US intervention country by country and examine the failures in each case.

May 12, 2017

On FPF #39, I discuss US interventions across Africa and Asia. The US is going to provide support for the West African coalition fighting Islamists. The US is selling $2 billion in weapons to the UAE. The UAE is currently fighting against the US-backed government in Libya. The Afghan government nearly lost a key province to the Taliban. I also update nuclear waste, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and the drug war.

May 10, 2017

On FPF #38, I discuss the trend of US soldiers moving towards the front lines. Obama and Trump moved US soldiers towards the front lines in Iraq and Syria. Now the Pentagon is looking to move US troops closer to the front lines in Afghanistan and Somalia. I examine the past and future outcomes of this policy. I also update South Korea, Yemen, Somalia, and Turkey.
