Foreign Policy Focus

Foreign Policy Focus is a podcast hosted by me, Kyle! It covers current events overseas and how those events affect you at home. While US military operations in the Middle East seem like they are on the other side of the world, they have real impacts on the everyday lives of Americans. Wars are the most costly of all US government actions and politicians use them to strip away rights of Americans. Knowing what your government is doing around the globe will give you insight into what they are doing at home.

On FPF #73 I give all the latest news on the Sanctions Bill. The bill passed the House and Senate with a combined five no votes, and now Trump plans to sign it. The bill will drive a larger divide in the Russia/USA relationship. I examine how the sanctions bill fits into Trump's Russia policy. I also update Pakistan, North Korea, Venezuela, Syria, and Yemen.

On Foreign Policy Focus#71, I talk about some of Trump's recent tweets. Trump announced a change to the US policy on allowing trans people into the military. Trump also tweeted about ending the CIA funding to Syrian rebels. I look at the content and effects of Trump's tweets. I also update Mosul, Israel, Libya, Syria, and Yemen.

On FPF #70 I discuss the new travel ban is preventing Americans from going to North Korea. The travel ban can have a lot of outcomes and consequences. I update the possibility of Trump starting a private war in Afghanistan. Look into the unrest and protests in Israel. I also update Mosul, Nigeria, and Yemen.

Jul 21, 2017

On FPF #69, I update the Syrian Civil War. The war has over ten different armies fighting for control. Unpredictable men lead many of these armies. Several of these armies frequently change alliances and turn allies to enemies. Seemingly sensible alliances are often avoided for political reasons. Two world superpowers make it possible for war to continue to escalate in Syria. I also update Trump, Russia, and Turkey.

On FPF #68 I address the alternate reality created by the mainstream media. The alternate reality keeps American uninformed on foreign policy. Then I update two new Trump appointments. I also discuss Trump's policy on Iran. I give news updates on Mosul, Raqqa, and Yemen.

Jul 17, 2017

On FPF #67, I discuss the liberation of Mosul. Several officials have said the battle for Mosul is over, but fighting continues. I consider the media's lack of coverage of the destruction on Mosul. I also update Syria and Yemen.

Jul 14, 2017

On FPF #66, I discuss Yemen again. The crisis in Yemen continues to get worse. The cholera outbreak has infected over 300,000 and killed over 2,000. The US has doubled the amount of mid-air refueling to the Saudi coalition since Saudi Arabia murdered over 200 people at a funeral in October. The US seems only to support Saudi Arabia's war because no one is paying attention to Yemen. I also update Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, and North Korea.

Jul 12, 2017

On FPF #65, I discuss how the FBI creates terrorists. The FBI will bribe or blackmail Arabs in the US to become informants. The informants often target disenfranchised young Muslim Arabs then radicalize or entrap them. At times, informants use US foreign policy to radicalize someone. On other occasions, informants befriend people, then leverage that friendship to get them to play a small role in a fake terror plot. The FBI always brags about the arrests, but rarely informs the US how the FBI created the "terrorist" in the first place. I also update Russia, US weapon sales, Saudi/Qatar, Syria, Mosul, and Yemen.

Will Porter comes on FPF #64 to discuss journalism and Syria. Will discuss how he finds and vets news. Will list some sources he trusts and how he approaches the MSM. Will also explain how he finds fake news.

Will has written several recent articles on the April 4th chemical weapons attack in Syria. Will gives us all the latest news and his theory on what actually happened.

On FPF #63, I talk about the first meeting between Trump and Putin. Trump and Putin met for 30 minutes and discussed several topics. Trump and Putin talked about Syria, Ukraine, cyber security, and ambassadors. I also update Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the UK.

Jul 5, 2017

On FPF #62, I look at some polling that may give insight into how Trump won the election. Trump ran as the less hawkish candidate on foreign policy but has adopted a Hillary Clinton style Foreign Policy. I also update Iraq, Libya, Russia, and Mosul.

Jul 3, 2017

On FPF #61, I update several conflicts from around the world. In Africa, I update ongoing conflicts in Mali, Libya, and Somalia. In the Middle East, I focus on US interventions in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I also update the civil war in Ukraine.
